Are you or your child stuck in a past situation whether that has do with a past life event, work, school or sports injury? I can help guide you and your child through the hard times and move past disturbing memories, difficult situations or mental and physical set backs. Through the use of therapy both you and your child may feel a sense of release and become more connected with yourself and others.
I can help your child and/or yourself with the symptoms of anxiety, depression, anger and all that comes with life transitions and or trauma.
I am certified in EMDR and a Amen Clinic Certified Brain Health Professional as well as a certified nutritionist. I am also trained in play therapy, sand therapy, and CBT techniques. I have experience with children and adults of all ages. I was in education for over 14 years as a college advisor, teacher, and school counselor. Everyone's path to mental healing looks different. I strive to provide an approach that is unique to each person's needs.

Hello! My name is Desiree Castaneda, and I’m excited to join Making Minds Healthy Services as a practicum student. I am completing my Master’s degree in Counseling, and this practicum is an important step toward becoming a licensed professional counselor.
My passion for counseling comes from a deep commitment to helping people navigate life’s challenges, discover their strengths, and find hope amid difficult seasons. I strive to create a warm, safe, and nonjudgmental space where clients can share their stories, process emotions, and work toward meaningful change.
While in my practicum, I will be working under the supervision of experienced licensed professionals, ensuring that every client receives high-quality and compassionate care.
I’m eager to learn, grow, and contribute to the supportive environment here, and I look forward to walking alongside clients in their healing journey.
Outside of counseling, I enjoy spending time with family, my 3 dogs, photography, and cooking, which helps me stay grounded and balanced.
